How use MAZAIKA to make goodlooking picture |
I scan picture by Howard Connolly from "The great American Pin-Up" book (Taschen 1996)
It was big so I leave only face of girl.
This picture is good colored an saturated but after 15 minutes of render I understand that collection
of icons I use for render couldn't fit to this colors. So I stop creation and start to correct source image.
At first I just made image brighter but because I don't know what color range icon collection can produce
I did made image only little lighter - it was still good looking. This time rendered mosaic was a little better
but not good at all.
At third time I made very bright source image - it is obviouse that it loks too light. But mosaic was better that
at first two time. But still girl's face has unpleasant red spots on cheek and chin.
This spots were red color so I decrease color saturation. This time mosaic picture looks almost as I want.
So it was a time to finish my work. I close inspect result picture and find that
17,18 and 19 icons in 22 row is all "No smoking sign" and 6 - 7 in 28 row is a same too.
I use "Manual creation" mode and replace icons that don't like to different. Here is final version of picture.
As you can see - it assembled from windows icons so every image cell is 32x32 pixel 30 sell height
and 30 cell width (960x960 pixels).
