Mazaika-Video uses it's own format for video clips. This was done for making more fast and effective access to separate movie frames. When the program builds a mosaic it must search through hundreds minutes of video footage, through hundreds thousands of movie frames to select video frames at particular moments. This can not be done fast with common used video file formats because these formats were designed for effective video playback and storage. They are not made for fast random jumping from frame to frame within a video content.

MZVClp format is actually just a set of jpg files in one folder with subfolders. One image is one movie frame. There is no audio. It's just a set of frames. System of folders with subfolders grants very fast searching time for separate images.

The OS X system treats these .mzvclp folders as a bundles. You see them in Finder as a files. You can preview them with MZVClp Viewer application.

To prepare your movie footage for Mazaika-Video you need to convert it into MZVClp format. This can be done easy with MZVClp Converter application.

When Mazaika-Video exports mosaic video it creates a folder with .mzframes extension and populate it with separate mosaic movie frames.

.mzframes folders are similar to .mzvclp but there are few difference. You can still preview .mzframes with MZVClp Viewer application but the OS X system treats .mzframes folders as normal folders. You can open it in Finder application and see it's content.

.mzframes folders do not not contain subfolders. This was done for easier assess to separate mosaic images inside.

convert .mzframes to .mov

To convert your exported mosaic frames into common used movie format you may use Movie Assembler application. As an alternative you may use your favourite movie editor. Most of serious movie editing software allow you to use "frame sequences" (an ordered set of image files) as a video input. (That's why you need an easy manual access to .mzframes folder content)
