KinoMax Ekaterinburg Photo Mosaic Example
Mosaic details:
This is a night shot of the oldest Ekaterinburg movie theater
Coliseum-KinoMax.
It is 60 columns width and 60 rows height mosaic.
There are 3600 different images used in this mosaic!
Single tile size is 200 x 150 pixels.
Corel Photo ClipArt image collection was used as tile images. To avoid any image distortion
only landscape oriented pictures were used. There were 24,000+ different
images in the library for this mosaic. There are 60 x 60 = 3600 different
images used in this mosaic!
Mazaika settings that were used:
- Flips usage: Horizontal flips
Mazaika can use any tile as it is or it's flipped horizontal version.
- Tile Repetitions: 1
There are no repeated tiles. Each tile was used only ONCE. If it was used as a flipped tile, it could not be used as it was originally.
- Blend percent: 0
There is no blending with the original image. Tile colors are the same as were in the Corel collection.
- Mosaic Size: 60 x 60 tiles
It takes about 3 minutes to calculate mosaic on P4 - 2.8 GHz. (512 RAM) WinXP system. It takes another 5 minutes to save the mosaic as a 12,000 x 9,000 pixels TIFF file. It is a 309 MB file and can be printed as a 40" x 30" poster at 300 dpi.
